I'm not aware of a 1958 5500, they did make a F-550...is that what you're asking about? I think the 5500 series numbers were used starting in 1960...so could your year or series be wrong?
The 1958 F-550 is a snub nose (LCF) with swing open front fenders, single axle rated at 26,000. In '58 Chevrolet's biggest single axle truck was the 9000/10000 Series (2-1/2 ton) rated at 25,000 pounds.
