Also, aren't we familiar enough with our local street speed limits? Really need a Garmin to tell you?
My truck sees long trips on a regular basis, often 4 or 5 hours from home. I'm in "unfamiliar" territory quite often and tend to miss speed limit signs. My speedometer works and is dead on, but it's nice to be notified by my GPS when I'm exceeding the speed limit (before I'm notified by a cop).
I had a speedometer app on my phone that would also give 1/8th and 1/4 mile times. It was hands free, automatic and accurate, but pointless when running a stock 69 year old 216.
