Months are represented by the letters A-L as indicated by the chevellstuff site that Joe linked to above. Tim Lederman's website gives a clear example of the letter "I" being used in a date code disproving the idea that "I" was not used in the A-L month code. http://www.1954advance-design.com/Web%20images/casting-code-photos/codes-ser-nums.html.
