The hose that goes to the side of the canister attaches to the port closest to the flywheel which is also where the oil pressure line attaches. Use a 1/8" NPT "Street Tee" to make a clean-looking installation for both lines. The drain hose from the bottom goes to the forward port down near the oil pan rail. The oil will flow either way, but that's the usual way to connect the lines. It's sometimes a good idea to extend the block ports with pipe nipples to keep the rubber lines away from the exhaust pipe. A burned or damaged flex line will empty the crankcase before you know something is wrong.
