Dennis, I’ve had similar with my ‘63. Seems possible the float valve angle is a little off on the carb. If the gas level in the float bowl was very low, and ran over to one side in a turn, could stall the engine briefly. I had this happening in a right turn only, and if you had the clutch disengaged at the time , it would die. A new carburetor since then and it’s fine now. Not saying that’s what you have, but it kinda sounds like fuel rather that electrical. I’ve had some bad luck with replacement carbs on these old Chevs, or , excuse me, stovebolts!
