Hello Rich, Yes, when I bought the truck, he had no hood and I had a spare Chevrolet hood. I have just gotten confirmation that the new reproduced GMC side hood trim are long enough that I can install them over the Chevrolet vent louvers and have it look the part of a correct GMC hood. It is a hoot to actually run Jimmy for true dump truck work. My neighbors all come out to watch me. I also enjoy driving the original crash box transmission. I must admit that I am better shifting down that shifting up. I have determined that I need just a little bit more patience to get the road speed in line with the engine speed when going up the gears. Going down I clutch, let the speed drop a bit then give a little punch on the gas pedal then slip right into 3rd gear or 2nd gear as needed.
