I have a '57 1/2 ton. It currently has a 265 (mystery motor) and I picked up a SM420 and driveline for it. The stock rear is in place, but missing the yoke... I think I am going to change direction and build/find a 350 engine and 350 trans. I will probably buy the aftermarket bolt-on motor mount/x-member and tranny x-member. As for the rear end... I know that I will need to upgrade to accomodate the hp/tq of the new engine/trans. Here's where I need help:
Is there a direct bolt in rear that will have the same mounting points and locations for using the existing suspension components? Also, do I even want to keep the stock style suspension with a beefier drivetrain? I think I will want this donor rear to have a 5-lug pattern as well...
