Another way to deal with the removing the paint from the high spots on the horn button is to tightly roll a blue paper shop towel and hold it together with tape. Think of it as an eraser stick and use acetone on it to remove the paint from the high spots as soon as the new paint becomes tacky. I would do it twice, once after the primer and then again after the final paint.
