Sounds to me like you really just want to stop the rust and what it looks like after the deal is not the main goal. If your not taking the truck off the frame as you know your not going to get all the rust and not going to be able to paint it in all the places that may need it. We have a 1960 TON truck we use for a dump truck and how pretty it looks is not even on the list. For you to do all that work to fill the pitted places seems like a lot of wasted work. I just guess it depends how what your going for. You said how nice it looked after it was done was not a concern so I would not waste my time with body filler. My guess would be to remove any lose stuff and clean it good and lay the Zero Rust stuff to it.. Or POR15.. I understand that POR15 won't hold up to the sunlight. So I myself would not put that on a dump truck frame because I am sure it sees alot of sunlight. I know ours would for sure.
