I have moved generators between the 216 and the 235 several times. Not a lot of difference, but I have also been wrong many times. The strap like mount will fit most engines. Even with the mount at a little different and angled location. First remove the mount from the generator and then try to fit it to the new mount. Bolt holes line up? Probably good. Then measure the the pulley alignment to the damper pulley and the water pump. OK or not? Probably OK there as well. Only thing left is the belt length. That will take you to fit. But if the mount will not line up with the mount holes, then you have to match the mount to the year and possibly options available(that seems unlikely to me but, I have missed this stuff before) the generator will be the same. The pully will need to match the damper pulley belt width(that is just how these swaps work) and that just leaves the mount. I have drilled new holes in on in the past, just why? Can't remember now, but I think it was to mount an alternator in place of the generator. That is a different story.
