From your post above you may have a similar truck to the Jim Carter example - with a pivoting windscreen. Is your windscreen operated by a crank handle and how far does the windscreen pivot out?

Look at the first youtube video on my signature as it will give you some idea of the windshield pivot. The military truck windshields don't have a crank, they have two pivot braces on the a-pillars that hold the windshield frame. They also open out much father than on civilian style windshield frames.
