Oh you poor uninformed young people---of course there were coupe pickups. Gm made them from 1936-42. Do a search foe "pickup boxes for coupes" and then read the article by Jim Carter Truck Parts and look at the very good pictures. A good friend had a 37 Chevy business coupe with the pickup box and my Dad hauled his bulldozer service parts in an old Ford coupe with a pickup box. IIRC both Sears and Montgomery Ward offered after market ones that you installed yourself. The Aussies improved on our crude ones with their Utes.
