Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 759 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 759 | I feel pretty stupid about this, BUT, the pictures that I took during disassembly of my differential don't really show the direction of the pinion ring on the pinion shaft. I made a note that my punch marks go a certain way. Problem is, I apparently forgot to actually put any punch marks on it. I'm talking about the large ring that flops around loose on the rear end pinion shaft when it is out of the truck. The ring that the 3 differential retaining bolts tighten up against. I think that the beveled edge goes toward the pinion gear, (away from the splines), so that the retaining bolts push it up against the thick double row front bearing when the outside retainer bolts are tightened. I am putting this back together and just want to confirm that my thinking is correct. Thanks, Mike
