We have a fella around here that stripes dealer cars-he wipes the tape area up one side & down the other using a towel, grabs a roll of tape, puts it on the front fender & literally walks back to the rear of the car & lays it donw, walks back using another towel to smooth the tape down & razor blades the door edges, repeat on other side & on to the next car-I bet he spends a minute/minute & half on Jap cars, big Ford trucks/vans took him much longer. I think the key is not getting too picky, just pull it snug(don't stretch tho) & it will lay down straight on its own.
