Chuck,
We used 1/8" pinstripe tape made by 3M. I's about 1" wide and you place it on the cab a little off the center line of the cab "belt" (if you want to know the location, I 'll have to go look). Run it inside the door frames (turn the corner and go in about an inch).
After the tape is in place, your remove the 1/8" center strip and you are ready to paint.
If you are good, you could do it like the pros (and as it was originally done) - by brush. Or, there are special applicator tools - Eastwoods and others sell them.
Are you going to try to do the wheels, also?
