I recently picked up a boneyard 12v starter from a 55/56 Suburban 235 to rebuild for my 235. The teeth on the drive gear look to be machined flat on the side that engages the ring gear. I've never noticed this on any other starter and the pictures of replacement parts don't seem to have it. It doesn't look like they were ground off as it's pretty uniform and smooth. The model tag is missing. Does this look okay?
