Thanks all, I will be crawling under and yanking it out.
Backstory: I bought the ‘54 off a retiring downsizing co-worker who only put on limited mileage; he bought it from the hot rod shop who obtained it because the ppo lost job and could not pay for engine rebuild. I assumed (and shouldn’t have) that the hot rod shop knew what they were doing but perhaps they wanted to cut losses (or not).
