Buy another truck from a non rusty part of the country. It’s easy to dismiss trucks a 1,000 miles (plus away). But the reality is you hook up a trailer, you and a bud hit the road. A Good roadtrip and 2 or three days later you’re back home with a clean project truck and zero to very little rust. You save an unbeliveable amount of time and money with a roadtrip investment.

The above is a hard earned lesson. On one of my projects I spent months fixing rust, cut weld, cut weld, buy parts vehicle, cut weld. Then fill sand......to exhaustion. If anyone thinks driving cross country to get a clean, rust free, straight good iron project is expensive, then they've never gone the really expensive route (both time and money) of building a rust bucket. After the referenced project I made a pact with the Good Lord, I'd never buy another lb. of rust. So far I've lived up to the terms of that pact.

Good Luck
