The switch is under the steering wheel.

The brake light switch sends it's power up to the turn signal switch (under the steering wheel) and then back to the rear stop lights. When you activate the left or right turn signal the brake light power is interrupted and the flasher power is directed to that light leaving the other light in the stop mode. So the turn signal switch does have control of the brake lights as well.
