Not a propeller; a rod to hold the hood up.
I have been frustrated trying to get my hood to fit. I have been following the tech tip on how to do it. So I finally got it fitting OK at the cowl. I attached the springs and now I have a big gap at the cowl.

It seems that there is too much play in the hinges. So I have to get replacement hinges and restart the fight or forget about the springs and just prop the hood up like the foreigners do. (I think they are on to something)
Question: anybody have success deleting the springs and using a prop instead?
Yes, I can make one out of a hunk of 2x4, but I'm thinking of a metal rod that fits under the hood and can be swung into place.
Thanks.
