First off I will admit that I have a few "spare" engines tucked into corners, so my advice may just be enabling bad behavior. I agree with Jerry though on keeping the engine. Yes it is a babbit engine that not too many folks are overly concerned with these days, but it sounds like it is a complete operable engine. Getting rarer every day. If you have the space, I would advise to keep the engine as perhaps someone in the future may need some scarce parts.
