Gord and Fran, I'm not sure your question is completely off topic as I'm located on the wrong side of cracks on the only two way road out of where I live, about 3 miles from where the lava started flowing. The County has covered the cracks with pieces of metal along a 1/10 mile stretch of Highway 130 but there is steam coming from underneath the plates as well as on the sides of the road. If that road completely fails I'll be physically stuck here. Both my '48 GMC and '48 Chevy, along with a '72 MGB are still at my house. None of the 3 are currently safe to drive owing to various problems that I'm working on with my limited skills and I havn't found anywhere to put them that is even remotely affordable. I'm hoping to find a place where I can put up some tent garages and get them moved. No danger for me, just possible marooning. | | |
