I had a 48-53 1/2 ton bed on back half of original frame made up as a trailer, used it several times. It made a pretty lousy trailer, the axle placement prevented proper loading and tongue weight, always light on the front. Stacking firewood real high in front and none in back was only way it worked without wondering down the road.
I bought it for the near perfect fenders and disassembled the whole thing.

If you actually wanted a trailer consider moving fenders and axle back.
