I can't help you but hope you get an answer... I like that look too. The Jeep jeeps had a non gloss finish available a few years ago... have seen a few around here that are looking a bit rough now.. seems they get even duller is some spots. The look I am thinking about was from the '50s and 60's .... just painting with black primer.. but that is not a protective coat. Come on guys.... someone must know a good way of doing this ! !
