Sounds interesting, can't wait to see the finished product. I have the external oil filter system, wonder if the kill sensor can be hooked up to that?
The 292 I'm having built has an exterior belt driven oil pump. They are putting a sensor on it that kills the engine if oil pressure drops below a certain level. It seems to me that this would be a good thing for any engine.
Today I went to the local clutch rebuilder and got a new clutch, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and pressure plate. They also turned the flywheel for me. He said the old pressure plate I brought in looked like one from a Jeep or S-10, the one he gave me is correct for a '53 Chevy. The ring gear needs to be replaced but he has to order it - he said it is a size he has never run across before: 13.06" ID and 14.09 OD. Part number 168T. If he can't get it AutoZone has a listing for it.
I also degreased the frame to clean up all of the oil that flew everywhere when to block blew. Looks like the steering box has been leaking for quite awhile, now would be the best time to deal with this issue since the front clip is off and the motor is out of the way.
