Maybe I am doing something wrong, but it took me less than 30 minutes to remove the passenger side of the windshield. I used a fair amount of soapy water and 5 1 inch putty knives to loosen the rubber in increments from the pinchweld. The drivers side took even less time, with out cracking the glass. (at least anymore than it was) The local glass company cut a new piece using the old glass as a template. The cheapest place I could find for laminated glass online was 60 bucks. The local company did it for 28.50 plus put a rush on it so I could install it this weekend. 4onthefloor, you are right. I thought the gasket was good enough to reuse. After I removed it, it was obvious it needed replaced. So I will order a new gasket, and prep and paint the interior this weekend.
