Safety first, last, and always! As an aside- - - -here's something I request of all my guests at the Memorial Day weekend social event I sponsor for the Guns & Ammo forum every year (Year #15 this time). We ask all our guests to compose a short medical history and "I.C.E." contact information and keep it in a convenient location like the glove box of their car, for instance, listing any medications, allergies, or other information first responders might need to know in case a person is unable to speak for himself. Obviously, being at a shooting range for 12 hours or so has its own unique hazards, but allergies, sunstroke, or chronic medical conditions can be just as deadly. Our guests have always been very cooperative with our requests, and so far the only mishap has involved one guest getting a little too close to a rifle scope on a hard-kicking magnum and needing six stitches to mend his eyebrow.
