I don't know of the force being applied being the gauge is mounted right below where I was working and it was too dangerous to watch it. It is a 35 ton ram that was doing the pulling. I do know that the bolted one took the most abuse. It pulled and pulled, I didn't think it would ever break.
We are going to do it again, this time with more welds and less bond area. He made the bond area a little bigger than it would be on your average pinch weld. And I want to put completely weld the butt weld this time.
