Hell has frozen over! I have found and purchased a third member for my 3/4 ton truck. 4.10 gears.
It is possible and there are units out there. But don’t try searching for the 3rd member. Look for guys parting out trucks. Look for rolling chassis because they aren’t selling and you may be able to get them to drop the member and send it to you. Look on ownster.com. It will get you all the Craig’s list ads and many other ads. Some guys don’t know what they have and you just have to ask for it. Their not advertising the #@$””% third member but maybe the truck that has it underneath. I actually found three but two guys just didn’t want to drop it out and ship. They had no idea how much I was ready to pay and cut their own throat. $$$$$
If your in the north. Good for you as most I found were in fact above the Mason Dixie line. Go figure, none in Florida. Shipping was $140 but I saw several pics of it and it looks like a good one with little wear. Seller is really great and sent pics and pics of the crate and shipping label with the tracking number.
