I was wondering if anybody had run into the same problem I have. I purchased an original 52 door. I took it down to bare metal primered and painted. No big deal. Under the original champagne paint was what appeared to be a black primer. Nothing absolutly nothing would touch it. I tried three different chemical strippers, 60 grit sand paper. I did get it removed by using a angle grider amd a wire wheel followed by lots of sand paper. I hate losing that much metal trying to preserve the item. Anyway I was just curious if anybody had a better idea, Jimmie.
