Any of the trucks prior to the 2nd. generation 55's will have interference problems between the steering shaft and small block V8 exhaust manifolds like rams' horns, etc. That would include trucks from the 1940's, early 50's, etc. Late 55 and newer trucks had a V8 option, so some stock-type manifolds will clear the steering gear better than the ones that were only designed for 6 cylinders.
