I understand what you were trying to say, but the way you expressed it was a little confusing. 360 degrees on the crank is 180 at the cam, but getting the dots aligned perfectly when they're not facing each other is a SWAG at best. If the head is off, finding TDC is pretty simple- - - -just watch the piston as it comes to the top, or use a "positive stop" over the piston and split the difference. That's how we set up the degree wheel when we checked John's new cam when we built his 261 a while back.
