After messing around with rear ends I found the switching to an overdrive transmission was the answer. I can actually up shift while climbing a grade,and even when I climb a serious grade and have to down shift the gears are closer together so not much speed is lost. I have a 4.57 rear with a t 5 and 5800 lb 1 ton. and the original 235.
Its by no means a power house, but I can keep up with traffic.
