When I used to haul gas, the company I worked for used it in their trucks. If you didn't use the right valve cores, it would stick them open. Another company I worked for didn't use anything. To be honest, I didn't see any advantage to it. Our trucks had a trailer on them all the time, so there was always some sort of load. Maybe if you bobtailed every once in awhile you would feel the difference.
