The plate was essential due to the tight engine compartment of the cab 11 CMP. It was drilled an tapped for brass fittings.

The location of the factory manifold vacuum port sticks out the left side over an inch and the engine cover is barely 3/4 of an inch....Manifold is now plugged with a common pipe plug....... engine cover originally had asbestos insulation..... I am currently running mine with no insulation..... in the summer the heat transfer to the COE engine cover is enough to scorch skin on the right leg of a passenger if he is wearing short pants. I have since found some ceramic cloth that will be installing both for heat and sound deadening.

Such a plate was a stock item but almost impossible to find today.

Pictures......

Parts are hard to find so we scrounge for parts vehicles all the time...... our back field is our warehouse of about 36 parts vehicles shared between 3 of us working on CMPs,,,,The top one is a HUP ( Heavy Utility Personel) and the one under is a two axle 4 ton CMP trailer.

some even walk to our place

THANKS FOR THE HELP AND ALL THOSE WHO WERE PATIENT
