Hopefully I will provide some help and at least give you a bump.
I've never worked on a 35, but someone here has and hopefully will help you out. One the vehicles I have worked on, the channel that holds the glass is what you said, "window metal channel". It has a rubber sealing strip that goes on the bottom of your glass and sets into the metal channel.
I'm gonna be no help on where to get one except to check with vendors for repros or used.
Chevy of the 40's, The Filling Station, or others out there may help you out.
