I have become a convert. I used to believe that a vintage vehicle should be maintained factory stock or you have ruined it. I have 3 old rides. My 47 Jeep is still nearly stock. It likes to go 40 MPH. I live in the country, in southern Ohio, in the middle of nowhere. I head out on any remote county road, and in a few minutes 3 impatient cars are stacked up behind me. The Jeep is going to get a 30% overdrive. My 54 3100 is getting a 350 engine and 350 automatic and a 3.08 blazer rear end. My '50 Ford custom has a 302 and C-4 automatic. Zoom-Zoom. I love to putter along 40 MPH on a warm, sunny day. But I can't find a peaceful road remote enough to do it. I still like my ride to look as stock as possible, but you better be able run with today's traffic, and be able to stop when the idiot on the cell phone in front of you just realized he/she almost missed their turn...........
