For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 53 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 53 | Hello all, I bought a 1950 5 window 3100 many years ago. I am working slowly at getting it put back together.
When I bought it the hood would not close as it was forward 1" in front of the front fender edge. I figured that was caused by the front cab mounts rotted out. I have welded in a new cab floor and front motor mounts and now am test fitting hood. It still seems to be 1/2" forward. Also there is a gap between front fender and running board. Could the cab sinking down have an effect on the fender?
Do you guys have pics that could help out? How could I check the shape of the fender? I did get a different hood as well and it seems to be the right size, but alignment is poor.
Thanks, Jerry | | |
