Would like to report that I was fortunate enought to get a glass company to send installers out to install my windshield. The first two I asked turned me down saying it was too difficult. Th third company, who goes by the name "Low Price Glass" came out and installed it for me at a reasonable price. I would not have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes. But they were in my driveway no longer than thirty minutes, perhaps less.. Of course the old windshield was out and the area cleaned.
The lead man installed the gasket by himself with practically no asistance from the helper..and it stayed on..no tape..took him no longer than a couple of minutes to do so. I guess I'll have to eat my words about the Jimmy Carter gasket. It worked well for somebody who knew what he was doing.
