I would like to repaint the posts that run between the window and the wind wing on the doors of my 58 stovebolt. What is the best way to achieve a glossy finish? Is this some type of clear coat or is there a high gloss black paint that provides the same look as original or is a matter of technique? Sorry if this is a simple question, but I already tried a semigloss black lacquer that looks flat in comparison to the original color. About all I can say about that attempt is the surface rust is gone and the metal is protected.
