About 5 years ago, I installed an Offenhauser dual carb manifold with Carter YF's on the 235 in the '51. Everything works great except...I have no fast idle when it's cold. They are auto choke carbs, and the fast idle doesn't have enough strength to overcome the return springs. I have considered using the original throttle cable, but due to the nature of the linkage, I can't figure out a good way to do it. I'm sure anyone with a dual carb setup has crossed this bridge. What worked for you? Right now, I wedge a piece of wood between the gas pedal and the brake. There has to be a better way. Thanks in advance!
