First. Thanks for the answers I received for my other question. I am looking into a few of the options. Much appreciated. Now for my next question. I've got a 77 GMC 1/2 ton and a 49 GMC 1/2 ton. From all the reading I've been doing I know I've got huck brakes for my 49. They came in a few buckets so I don't even know if all the parts are there. There's new cylinders, drums and shoes. I tried do do a search to see if I could find some pictures of the huck system but came up empty. I've read that the huck system has a few downsides. What I'd like to know is can I take the whole braking system from my 77 GMC 1/2 ton and put it on my 49? Or should I buy conversion kits for the front and back instead. I am going to take off the cover for the rear end and count the teeth to see what gear ratio I have. If it's okay I will leave that rearend in there for now. I am looking at putting a 305 into the truck soon. My main objective is to have a safer truck so my kids can drive it. Got a daughter that just turned 16 and she's anxious to get behind the wheel with her friends.
