I had a '49 Carter W-1 on my '47 216. It was a rebuild and it worked well for a while but I think ethanol got to it and it had trouble idling, stalled a lot, seem to lose power in the engine. I got a Rochester B from a former Stovebolter (Mr. Lang), rebuilt it and the truck has never run better. I'm aware of the shortcomings of the B but for now I'll use it until I put together a rebuilt 235. Check out Langdon's Stovebolt. (But only if you're not worried about original look.)

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.
