I don't know if you can get any copper slag locally. I can buy it here in the Phoenix area for about $12.00 for a 75 lb bag. It's a by-product of the copper mines. Looks like fine black sand. Very little dust. Cuts rust well, but will damage or warp sheet metal a lot like sand if you're not careful.
