The other day I found that the spring on the choke rod on my '56 235 has broken one of it's "hooks" and it's now not returning (opening the choke when I push the choke cable back in). Now that I've taken a close look at the set up, I'm seeing what looks like a rectangular 'riveted rod end', for lack of a better term. Is it possible to change this broken spring on this rod, or am I going to have to put on a different carb top (or full carb) to fix this simple problem?
