| | | | Joined: Jun 2015 Posts: 201 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2015 Posts: 201 | so last wendsday I bought an engine, found a guy locally that has a shop and he'd just gotten it from someone doing a V8 swap in a car. Turns out he is friends with the guy I bought my truck from!
The motor is a 1961 235. Got it for $450. I had Brad who I got my truck from go look at it and they ran it. Said it held 40 lbs of oil pressure and compression was 130! Assuming the people who had the car can be trusted, the said the motor has less than 40,000 original miles on it.
I've gotta get it cleaned up, not rusty just paint is shot and oil a grease all over it which I guess isnt bad. Gonna paint it magenta to match the fenders on my truck.
As far as the truck, I unbolted the front end and set the whole assembly to the side and the old motor is out as of yesterday. Used a tractor to get the old motor out but gonna have to see if i can get a friend with a lift to help put the new motor in. | | |
