If your ultimate goal is to upgrade the drive train in the future when you get the funds, look for a stock torque tube 3 speed from a '48-'54 truck. You could probably find a usable one from a truck with trees growing through the frame in a hedgerow as long as it isn't sitting in water and still has gear lube in it.
