Be sure to support the vehicle om jack stands by the frame, not the axle. That will give you a couple more inches of clearance between the pan and the axle as you lower it. If you remove any rod bearing caps, be VERY careful to account for the number and placement of all the shims between the rod and the cap. That's how the oil clearance of the rods is set.
