Don, I use bolts so that I can use my torque wrench. I tend to over-tighten if I don't. The middle bolts get tightened to a lower setting than the four corner bolts. Working from memory here, but as I recall the middle bolts get set to 6-7 foot pounds and the corner bolts get set to 12-15. I also use lock washers.
