There are hundreds of brokers out there who will quote you a price and lead you to believe they have carriers waiting. They then post the move on a load board and "pray for a miracle" that someone will take the load. Make sure that you don't give these type of guys a deposit, because you will have a dickens of a time getting it back, I have been in the trucking business for over 50 years and have seen a few good, lots of bad and lots of ugly situations when a completely inexperienced person searches for a carrier. I would probably recommend U-Ship. You will get lots of carriers quoting with all kinds of prices. U-Ship screens them a little bit and I think they have a feedback deal kind of like eBay. The best thing is to talk to the carrier and make sure they have USDOT credentials as a carrier.



Make sure they are a carrier and not a broker and that their insurance filing is current.
